Copy LinkTeach the song by rote. Play the game, substituting students' names and movement ideas. The students may be able to read the rhythms of the song.
Watch the kids play the game with "Hey, Betty Martin"

Begin by having students tiptoe to the beat as they sing the song.
Create new verses and move to "Hey, Betty Martin"

Invite the students to play the game in an open space. You can use this game to practice students' names. Substitute the student's name for "Betty Martin."

Review High/Low with “Bye Low, Baby Oh”

You could give each student chips to use as "notes" to show how the song goes higher and lower (their diagram should resemble the melodic contour given on the answer slides).
