Musicplay is a menu. The teacher is not expected to teach every song or activity. Choose the songs and activities from the list that will best fit your schedule and the needs of your students.
Watch the video to play Poison Melody with mi-re-do
Learn to sing the song "Al Citron"
If teacher is comfortable, teach the song by rote.
If you prefer, use the audio track to teach by rote: pause after each phrase and have the kids echo
This will help to learn the Spanish words as well.
Then sing the entire song with the audio track.
Watch the kids demo of the cup game. Then try it yourself.
Hint for teaching passing games: Start with whatever you want to pass in front of the teacher. (cups, sticks, beanbags). The teacher picks up one, says "Pick up" and on the words "set down" sets it in front of the student to her right. Then the student and teachers "pick up" and set down." Then three "pick up" and set down." Continue until all have the object. They will be more successful passing in the same direction if you start this way.
Game Directions: Students pass a cup to the right on beats one and three. On beats two and four, they pick up the cup that is in front of them. On the words “triki triki trón” the cup is waved to the right, to the left, and then set down to the right. "Al citron" is fun to learn, and when it is learned, you can teach even more challenging cup games.
