Introduction
In this lesson, you will:
- Play poison rhythm (3/4)
- Teach “COFFEE”
- Do the tennis ball movement while singing “COFFEE”
- Review the 3/4 time signature
- Optional: Teach the Orff arrangement for “COFFEE”
- Optional: Play “COFFEE” on Ukuele or Guitar
- Teach “I Can See”
- Learn the choreography for “I Can See”
- Do the choreography for “I Can See”
- Teach “Here’s a Song That’s Really Neat”
- Improvise on Boomwhackers during the rests
- Optional: Play the melody for “Here’s a Song that’s Really Neat” on Boomwhackers
Extension:
Musicplay is a menu. The teacher is not expected to teach every song or activity. Choose the songs and activities from the list that will best fit your schedule and the needs of your students.

Copy LinkHave students read the rhythms using the rhythm names ta, titi, too-oo. Teach the round by rote or have students sing the letter names or solfege. When the song is known well, try it as a two part round. When the two part round is secure, try it as a three part round.

- Group One has red (C) and yellow (E) and dark green (G).
- Group Two has neon green (F) purple (A) and small red (C).
Sing the song. During each of the rests a different group will improvise.
- First rest: Group 1 - Second rest: Group 1 - Third rest: Group 2 - Fourth rest: Group 1
- Fifth rest: Group 1 - Sixth rest: Group 1 - Seventh rest: Group 2 - Eighth rest: Group 1
