In this lesson, you will:
This week we’ll sing some songs that you could sing around the campfire or on a car trip.
Read the lyrics to "Take Me Out To The Ballgame".
Watch the video.
Replay the video and sing along!
A parody or musical parody is when you change the lyrics to something funny using the same melody of a song.
For example, you could sing "I hope we have ice cream for din-ner" to the tune of the first line of "Take Me Out To The Ballgame".
-or-
You could try "I want to go to the beach, soon" or "I don't like to do home-work".
Continue writing your parody until you have a full verse.
The notation video for this song will help with the rhythms.
Does it rhyme properly?
Perform your parody for your family or friends!
-or-
Record it and send it to your music teacher!
This is a parody of the song "Clementine".
'Frankenstein' was substituted for 'Clementine', making the song silly and even more fun!
Watch the video for #24 "Oh, My Darling".
