1 Sing the echoes for “Welcome to Music”
Sing the echoes for “Welcome to Music”.
In this lesson, you will:
Play with hands or paper plates along with "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy".
Watch the kids play the singing game for "Ho! Ho! Ho!"
Adapt for Zoom: choose a child to sing to.
Teacher and all students point to and sing to that child.
Where the kids in the demo join hands and change places, turn in your own circle.
Adapt for in-person: space out as much as you can. Point as the kids do in the video.
On trade spots, just change places. Say instead of sing.
Learn to sing and move to #49 "Up on a Housetop".
Listen to the video.
Play the video again and sing along.
Make up movements to go with the song!
Adapt for in-person: choose 2 kinds of instruments and play along with the song.
Watch the kids play the Lemonade game.
Zoom adaptation: teacher sings the call - students sing the response.
Choose one child to act out a job. The students watching guess what they were.
In-person adaptation: divide the class into 2 teams.
Listen to the recording and do hand signs to the song (or chant instead of singing).
Teams in turn choose one child to act out a job.
The students on the other team guess what they were.
Review the solfa notes in the song "Lemonade".
Note to teachers: other solfa tools for the song include a tone ladder for showing where so and mi fit in the scale.
Trace and color the solfa worksheet for "Lemonade".
