Begin by having students hop freely to the beat as they sing the song. Ask the students how else the squirrel might move. Repeat the song, changing the action to what the students suggest (e.g., Run/crawl/fly old squirrel ...). Try substituting
the word “listen” for “eidledum.” On the word “listen”, have the students freeze until you signal them to move. You will enhance their listening skills in all subject areas using this variant of the game.
Play the Loud Quiet Game.
Note to parents: This game works best on a desktop computer.
Until we rebuild the game, it doesn't work on tablets.
