For this end of the school year lesson, there are 2 options.
Option 1: Select the link below to go to the Movement Songs Favorites learning module.
There are 15 favorite songs for students to sing and move with (or just move).
Students may also enjoy free dance or free play time.
Free Play: Put 4 tubs of instruments on the floor: woods, metals, shakes/scrapes, and drums. Send the students to one of the 4 tubs. Signs to put on your tubs are included in Supporting Resources. (You could print a second set of signs for you to point to when it’s time to switch tubs.)
Play an age-appropriate pop song and invite the students with woods to play along. Pause. When you restart, invite the metals to play. Continue until all students have had a turn.
Free Dance: Play an age-appropriate pop song and invite the students to dance to the music. You could play "freeze dance" with it. Stop the music and students have to stop and freeze. If they are caught moving, they sit down.
Play a verse of the song.
Pay the video again and sing along.
Try to create a new verse as a class.
Watch the video and sing all the echo parts.
Create new verses for the song.
Listen to one verse of #93 "Swimming".
Play the video again and sing along.
Watch the Kids Demo video for #93 "Swimming" and do the actions with the class.
If you have extra time, try Free Play or Free Dance with your students.
