This is a shorter version of the "Hello Song" in English, French and Spanish, without names.
For this end-of-the-school-year lesson, there are 2 options.
Option 1.
Select the link below to go to the Movement Song Favorites learning module.
There are 15 favorite songs for students to sing and move with (or just move).
Students may also enjoy free dance or free play time.
Free Play - Put 4 tubs of instruments on the floor: woods, metals, shakes/scrapes, and drums. Send the students to one of the 4 tubs. Signs to put on your tubs are included in Supporting Resources.
(You could print a second set of signs for you to point to when it’s time to switch tubs.) Play an age-appropriate pop song of your choice and invite the students with woods to play along. Pause. When you restart, invite the metals to play. Continue until all students have had a turn.
Free Dance - Play an age-appropriate pop song of your choice and invite students to dance to the music. You could play "freeze dance" with it. Stop the music and students have to stop and freeze. If they are caught moving, they sit down.
Option 2.
Review the camps songs that follow.
Review the song.
If you didn't have students illustrate the mini books in the previous lesson, they are in Supporting Resources above. These books can be illustrated, then cut out and stapled.
Review the song and create actions for song #166 "Miss Polly".
Sing along.
Make up movements to go with the song.
Sing along.
Create new verses. Here are a few examples:
- Someone's feeling tired.... (teachers are, for sure!)
- Someone's going to camp...
- Someone's listening well...
- Someone's being a friend...
Sing with the lyrics video first.
Then sing with the Kids Demo video and do the movements that students show.
Sing and do the actions to #174 "She’ll Be Comin' Round the Mountain".
Play some of the song for students to learn the melody.
Then play the video again and sing along.
Create actions to go with the song.
Copy the movements for the song.
This is a very silly camp song.
