You could do the activities as outlined in this module, or go to the song and teach the Orff arrangement, and do the creating activities suggested.
Can you make up your own movements to go with the song?
Form a double circle, with pairs joining hands skater style.
Chorus: The pairs step clockwise around the circle.
Verse: The outside circle stands still while the inside circle weaves in and out in a clockwise direction.
Continue with a new partner. If the students are able to, have them create their own dance to the song.
Practice rhythm reading at different tempos.
Try exercise 2, 3 or 4 and choose the tempos to try.
Play the Game "Rhythm Racer?"
Choose the level that will challenge your students.
Make note values with pipe cleaners or go outside and draw them with sidewalk chalk.
