Teaching Procedure

1 Learn About the Staff

Do the following interactive activities in the staff lesson:

1. Music is written on five lines called the staff.
If your teacher wants you to do the written activity as well, do Worksheet 1 with this activity.

2. A clef is given at the beginning of each line.
If your teacher wants you to do the written activity as well, do Worksheet 2 with this activity.

3. Drag the words to fill in the blanks
4. Drag the treble clef to the staff
If your teacher wants you to do the written activity as well, do Worksheet 3 with this activity.

5. The lines are numbered from the bottom to the top.
6. Your hand has five fingers just like the staff has five lines.
7. Place the note on the line
If your teacher wants you to do the written activity as well, do Worksheet 4 with this activity.

8. Notes can also be placed in spaces.
9. Your hand staff has spaces.
10. Place the note in a space.
If your teacher wants you to do the written activity as well, do Worksheet 5 with this activity.
