Zoom: Choose a friend to be partners with. Do the movements with them. Sing again and choose a new friend!

In-person: Choose a friend that will be your partner at a distance. Do the movements with them.
If you're not allowed to sing, use the recording, or the teacher will say the words.

9 Point to the beat

In this activity, sing the song and point to the beat.

10 Hide some beats "in your head"

In this activity, click on some of the beats (hearts) to turn them off.

Then sing the song!

Remember to sing the beats (hearts) that you turned off "in your head" and not out loud!

Turn off other beats. This is a great way to develop "inner hearing" or "audiation".

11 How many sounds are on each beat?

Drag the puppies to show how many sounds you hear on each beat.

In the last activity, you used puppies to show one and two sounds.

In this activity, use real notes to write the rhythm!

13 Create a word rhythm pattern

Create a rhythm pattern with the words "Tommy" and "dog".

Here's an example:
Tommy, Tommy, Tommy, Dog
Dog, Dog, Tommy, Dog.

Say your word rhythm pattern out loud and clap it!
You can play your rhythm with body percussion or instruments.

You can use the song as an A section, then perform your rhythm as a B section.
